Background of the Lawsuit:

  • He alleged that a promised wheelchair-accessible shuttle bus never arrived, leaving him stranded for hours.  
     
  • The lawsuit, filed in August 2024, cited violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), breach of contract, and other claims.  
     
  • Straughter stated he sold his car to afford the ticket, travel, and lodging for the event.
     

    Changes Rick Ross is Making:

    • According to reports in early April 2025, Rick Ross has agreed to provide round-trip, wheelchair-accessible shuttle buses for the upcoming car show.
    • These buses will transport disabled guests to and from designated areas created specifically for them at the event.
    • Additionally, golf carts will be available to help wheelchair users move around the grounds.

    Statements from Involved Parties:

    • Darris Straughter's lawyer, John Hoover, stated, "Thanks to Darris and others, the next Rick Ross Car & Bike Show will be very accessible. Even golf carts will be provided for wheelchair users." He also noted that while the lawsuit continues, the changes are a positive step.
